Yucatan´s International Congress Center was built under LEED Green Building Certification standards, preparing to obtain the PLATINUM LEED certification that it contemplates: 

 

- More than 15% of all energy used in the CIC comes from renewable sources such as solar panels. The lighting system is high efficiency LED, generating low energy consumption. 

 

- The work of the CIC reduces the effect of the heat island, limiting the use of hard surfaces, with reflective surfaces and vegetation. The plants used are native species and with foliage that provides shade. 

 

- The CIC achieves water savings of over 50% by using highly efficient devices and furniture and reusing rainwater.
